UK govt wants Premier League back

The UK government says it is in chats with the English Premier League (EPL) on resumption of matches.

The legislature said it was chipping away at getting football back on the field as fast as could reasonably be expected.

Oliver Dowden, Culture, Media and Sports Secretary, talked at a parliamentary inquiries meeting on Monday.

“I for one have been in converses with the Premier League with the end goal of getting football fully operational as quickly as time permits so as to help the entire football network.

“Obviously, any such moves would need to be predictable with general wellbeing direction,” Reuters cited Dowden as saying.

The Premier League has been waiting since March 13.

The suspension stays until May 7, when the administration is required to audit the present limitations.

As of now, Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur have opened their preparation grounds.

On Friday, Premier League clubs will hold another phone call.
